Passivation
We provide passivation services to all 300-series austenitic stainless steels and many more. Alloy processes are performed to meet the requirements of the QQ-P-35 and A-967-05 standards. Certification is available upon request. Please contact us for assistance with your specific requirements.
Process Definition
Passivation is a chemical process that removes sulfides and ferrous materials from the surface of stainless steel. However, if the product is touched by a ferrous material after processing, it nullifies the passivation process.
Benefits of Passivation
- Maximizes Corrosion Resistance
- Removes Surface Contamination from Machined & Peened Parts
- Removes Exposed Sulfides from the Surface of Stainless Alloys (Which Can Act as Corrosion Initiation Sites on the Surface of the Fabricated Product)
